As you know, early childhood dental caries is a particularly aggressive form of dental disease that often begins at a very young age.  The development of dental disease in children is often linked to dietary practices that may begin in infancy and continue through adolescence and adulthood.   Our goal at Northwood Family Dental Center is to create awareness in the community that regular dental visits are important to oral and overall health and to educate people that tooth decay is preventable and that children are not predestined to develop dental disease because their parents and grandparents have suffered from these problems.  Our Halloween Candy Exchange program is intended to educate children on how their dietary choices affect their oral and systemic health, motivate parents to seek dental care for their children and to provide a reward for children who choose to part with the abundance of largely unhealthy foods that they will receive on Halloween.   At our office we are New Hampshire Medicaid providers for children and can work with most dental insurance carriers.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Alison Gomes, DMD, Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry

Have a great day
